HOW IT IS CALCULATED
Ceiling
Taken from the National Weather Service hourly forecast grid for the airport location and compared to your minimum.
Wind and crosswind
Crosswind is estimated from forecast wind against FAA runway headings, using the best-aligned runway each hour.
Convection
Any forecast thunderstorm risk in an hour marks it as no go when you choose to avoid convection.
