// ADVANTAGES FOR INSTRUCTORS

Why add ground instructor certificates.

01

Instructor credentials without a checkride

By passing three knowledge tests (FOI, AGI, IGI) and visiting an FAA office, you can earn Advanced and Instrument Ground Instructor certificates without aircraft rental or examiner fees.

02

Gold Seal eligibility

A ground instructor certificate with an advanced or instrument rating is one of the qualifying criteria for the FAA Gold Seal Flight Instructor designation, together with student pass-rate requirements.

03

Teach before your CFI checkride

With an AGI and IGI you can charge for ground instruction, run test-prep classes, and endorse students for knowledge tests while you are still building flight hours or completing your Commercial certificate.
